This is NOT my Porsche. It’s a friend of mine’s uncle’s car from a recent event I attended. I don’t consider myself a car guy nor do I currently own a motored vehicle. My main mode of transportation is my feet and a skateboard. Cool car though. Now that I have your attention.
I’m Bobby Roel, John Thornhill has provided me with this opportunity to be a guest writer on his blog. I have over 8 years of experience as a digital entrepreneur. Though I’ve made thousands in the online space, I don’t have much to show for my efforts. I just spent the last money I had to be a part of this program.
I want this post to educate you so you don’t make the mistakes I’ve made and can make an informed decision on what is the best way for you to make money online in 2021-2022 and moving forward for you. I’m especially focused on helping if you’ve struggled in the past or if you’re brand new and don’t know where to begin. If that’s you, this will come in helpful so read all the way until the end.
Though there is a ton of opportunity to make money online with money-making opportunities such as Amazon FBA, Shopify, Marketplace Drop Shipping, Crypto Currency, Freelance Work, and Affiliate Marketing low ticket and high ticket, my personal choice as the best way to do this in 2022 is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing. I understand this can be controversial. Before we look at that, let me break down these other methods and share my thoughts and experiences.
AMAZON FBA
The first on my list is Amazon FBA. You do your market research, find a supplier who’s selling a hot product you find for cheap, and then send it over to Amazon’s warehouses.
PROS
In this business, you get to leverage the largest retailer in the world by using what they’ve already set up. Things such as their platform to drive a ton of traffic. Their warehouses so you don’t have to pay for your own, and their employees which will save you money on hiring your own staff. This business can also be a real long-term asset that you can sell for a lotta moola in the future.
CONS
The downside, it takes two weeks to receive your payment making it challenging to scale fast. There’s a chance of running out of inventory if you don’t have enough funds to buy mass bulk beforehand. Every person selling the item is competing for the Buy Box, and Amazon could decide to sell your item themselves. Considering it’s their platform, they would automatically get the Buy Box which wouldn’t be good business for your or other sellers. You also don’t own your customer’s information so you won’t be able to market to the same people over and over again. This has always been the case and it won’t change in 2022.
SHOPIFY
Shopify allows you to easily set up a website at a reasonable cost, drive traffic to your own, source from various suppliers, and control most of the work within the business.
PROS
You don’t need to own any inventory. Payments come in fast so the inventory can be bought fast using the customer’s money after they’ve already paid for it. A real asset could be built since you get the customers email, and you own the store which can be customized to your liking.
CONS
Profit margins are getting lower and lower with the cost of ads going up. Shipping takes too long. This pisses off customers. The quality of goods isn’t always up to par since a lot of these are cheap items from China. This also pisses off customers. Customer service for these angry customers, building a team, and handling the marketing channels can also be time-consuming. This is also assuming you have a profitable product which is getting harder now than before due to ad cost, and it being easier for competitors to steal your product. It won’t get easier in 2022.
MARKETPLACE DROPSHIPPING
There are multiple marketplace platforms to dropship from. It started with eBay, Amazon. Now a few of the new big players are Facebook and Walmart Marketplace.
PROS
It’s low risk in that you don’t buy the inventory until after the customer pays for it so you know you’ll be profitable. Most of these marketplaces, apart from Walmart, are easy to get accepted to sell on. There’s a ton of buyer traffic on these platforms already looking for items to buy. Items can be sourced in the United States from big stores including Amazon, eBay, and Walmart so there’s no need to worry about the shipping delay.
CONS
Amazon, Walmart, and eBay aren’t allowing vendors to source from these big retailers. Stores who are caught selling using these big retailers as suppliers have their accounts instantly terminated. If you get shut down, you won’t receive your money for a long time. Facebook allows for you to use these retailers; however, store views are going down on the platform. There are still some big technical issues, and their personal support is severely undermanned since they’re trying to use bots for everything. This is a total nightmare for someone brand new trying to make money online. I don’t know what 2022 will hold for this business model.
CRYPTOCURRENCY
The online digital money of the future. New projects are coming up every day. Eventually, everyone will be transitioning to this or so they say. Let’s not exclude NFTs which are the digital asset of the future.
PROS
If someone invests in the right coin, they can potentially make 100x, or even 1000x on their investment. If you’re looking for something less volatile, coins within the top 100 including the top 2 Bitcoin, Ethereum have the potential to at least double. NFTs also have the same potential, if not more than the currency itself. NFTs are a new hot digital asset, and a lot of NFT art also looks really cool as well.
CONS
With the massive potential of these coins and NFTs, it’s also equally as challenging to predict the direction of the market let alone which coins will 1000x. With the massive shifts, it’s tough to predict when the markets will go up or down or by how much. This isn’t for someone with a sensitive tummy.
Since these aren’t regulated by the government, it makes it a lot easier for hackers, and what I call online pirates to steal your online money. More and more scammers are in the crypto communities looking for brand new people to take advantage of. Then for our brand-new people who start with almost $0, if you multiply 1000 by 0 then it’s still 0.
This way to make money online is more for people who already have enough income where they can afford to lose it which isn’t for our brand-new people again trying to make money online in 2022.
FREELANCE WORK
Freelance work is where you develop a skill. Find a client who needs that skill, and you perform that skill for them.
PROS
Freelance work is one of my favourite methods for a brand-new person to make money online in 2022. There are a ton of people on marketplaces like Fiverr, and Upwork looking for people to perform certain tasks. It could be simple things such as data entry with spreadsheets, replying to comments, posting on social media platforms, to more complex marketing skills such as SEO, copywriting, email, social media, PPC, banner marketing, and more.
The purpose of this business is to make the client’s life easier so they focus on the important things that will grow their business. Most clients are also looking for people since they don’t have time to do these skills themselves. Many of these skills can also be easily developed if someone doesn’t have them yet. Many of these clients can hire you and pay you lucrative retainers, we’re talking 6, 7 figure or more retainers in the future so you can continue working with them if they really like you and can afford to.
CONS
Again, the keywords are skills and more importantly time. Someone in this business must have or be able to develop skills. In order to get the chance to develop these skills, someone must also have the communication skills to put themselves in that position. A lot of freelance work would also consist of trading time for money. If you’re ok with that then that’s cool, but if you’re trying to get more time then this might not be the best option for you if you’re looking to start a business in 2022.
AFFILIATE MARKETING
My favourite out of all of these is high-ticket affiliate marketing. Notice how I specifically said high-ticket in this? I like high-ticket since you can receive a much larger commission for doing the same amount of work as a low-ticket product.
Figured I’d mention that. Now I might be a little biased since I’m in John’s program but hear me out.
As I mentioned before, this post is specifically for a brand-new person with very little income to start with trying to make money online in 2022. There are plenty of people having success in those other industries and I’m sure they’ve found a way around the cons of those businesses. If they have then I wish them the utmost success. Again, what I’m basing a lot of this on is my personal experience, knowledge, and what I personally think is the best business for brand new people to make money online in 2022.
PROS
Why I like about affiliate marketing for new people is you promote products or services that you don’t even have to own. There’s no need to worry about a product, shipping, inventory, customer service, and if you have a quality high ticket affiliate product to share, much like John’s program, you can make more money for doing the same amount of work as promoting a low-ticket offer. His program can also easily be set up everything up quickly. Then everything that requires any skill has also already been taken care of by his team. The only thing left for you to do is drive customers to your website which John offers, and training on how to do with his products.
More people are now looking for income security since this pandemic started in 2020. That started a major shift where many people lost what they thought was a secure job. It’s an unfortunate and frustrating situation, but it has also opened more opportunities. It’s easier to get quality Free traffic now more than ever.
There are active Facebook groups with more than 100,000 people in them, people are searching YouTube, Google for more solutions. Then Instagram Reels, YouTube shorts, and TikTok reels have made it easier for the brand-new person to go Viral without having to pay for any ads. You can also build a real asset with your email list which will pay you for years to come.
CONS
Much like the other ways to generate an income through the internet, high-ticket affiliate marketing isn’t without its setbacks. As simple as this may be, and with all the resources available, this business does take work.
It’s not like a 9-5 where you clock in, work for a boss you don’t like, and do a job that sucks the life out of you. This is much worse; you work for yourself. If you choose this path, it’s up to you to take responsibility for your life. Not to scare you, but this isn’t for everyone just like any business. There can be a lot of frustration, and sleepless nights. There can also be a lot of freedom in this which is what we all want. So, keep that in mind.
With that said, you can try to do this alone, or you can learn from one of the best in the business who has coached thousands of people to online success. FINALLY
