I created this post to help people learn different methods to get traffic to their website and grow their business online.

I see a lot of people struggle with getting traffic, and I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way!

Whether you already have a product or service to sell or are just getting started online the methods presented in this post will work for you.

So dive in, check out all of the methods presented and determine what will work best for you.

I recommend that you go through the entire article in order to discover all the different traffic methods that are available.

Take note of the methods that you find interesting and that would be beneficial and research them further after finishing reading.

Some of the tactics discussed may not make sense for your situation, and that’s OK.

I’ve included both free and paid methods to go the slow and steady route or the shortcut method.

The goal is to expose you to all the ways to get more visitors to your website as quickly as possible.

Ready? Let’s do this!

#1 – Video Marketing
Videos are free to make and can help you promote a product, service, or offer value to potential customers.

The easiest way to create a video for free is to use a program like PowerPoint or Google Sheets to show your topics and use a free screen capture software like Screencast-O-Matic to record yourself talking through the slides that you have created.

Create a channel with a descriptive profile, nice images, and a link back to your website and load up your videos on YouTube with a link back to your website and then rinse and repeat.

If done consistently you will start to gain a following and have a steady flow of new people visiting your site.

YouTube and Vimeo are the biggest sites to post videos to with many others where you can create an account for free and start driving traffic.

#2 – Online Directories
Seek out internet directories with authority in your niche and get backlinks.

Quality really matters here as directories have gotten a bad reputation over time, so make sure they are legitimate.

Some may require you to pay and if the price is reasonable and the site is an authority in your niche it may be ok to spend a little money.

Examples of this would be law, medical, service-based, etc.

To find these types of directories simply pull search on the Web for NICHE + Directory.

#3 – PPC Traffic
PPC stands for ‘Pay Per Click’ and it is one of the fastest, most targeted, and efficient methods to get fast traffic to any site.

There are many different online advertising platforms to buy traffic from including Google, Bing, Yahoo, and most of the Social Media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and more.

Before you go and buy traffic you need to have a plan in mind with a clear call to action and your ultimate goal for what you are paying for (are you wanting awareness, leads, conversions, sales, etc).

Many people use this tactic after they have a converting offer that has been tested through free methods…and this is a great way to scale quickly.

#4 – Press Releases
Both free and paid press release sites can give you exposure and the ability to drive traffic to any site or offer.

The advantage of using paid sites is that you will get far better distribution and exposure than free ones.

You also will get the ability to get listed on big sites like Forbes and Reuters which can be huge for any brand, if you are willing to shell out more $$$.

Many press release services allow you to have multiple backlinks which can benefit you in multiple ways.

#5 – Niche Forums
Forums used to be much more popular before the rise of Facebook groups, but can still be a great source of traffic.

The real value comes from joining forums in your niche and offering valuable responses, and conversation starters to get your message out there.

Like question and answer sites, you want to make sure to not come across as spammy.

Start slowly and offer good information and then gradually add links to your signature and also direct links within posts to your offers.

      Hello,

I agree video will help you get attention, but you must this is a difficult road as the competition is very high in most niches.

Having your own website, along with a social media presence is an effective way of creating authority so that people recognize you. This too takes time but is another way of generating free traffic to your affiliate offers.

I have found that paid traffic is much more effective than trying to build a business with free traffic.

      Thank you,

      David Wakeman

      Hi John,

Thanks for the tips and advice on getting more traffic to my blog. I’m looking to grow my blog and audience. I see you mentioned Press Releases, is there perhaps a service I can use to get my Press Releases up on high traffic PLR sites? I’d love to give Video Marketing a try, but I’m so shy for camera so I’ve never done a on-screen video yet. Bought a desk mic and everything but it’s just collecting dust on my desk now. Thanks again for the post, looking to join your ambassador program sometime this year 🙂

      Kindest,

      Mozie
