{"id":82,"date":"2008-05-16T09:02:34","date_gmt":"2008-05-16T09:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planetsmsblog.com\/my-ebay-feedback-just-increased-by-1000-points\/"},"modified":"2008-05-16T09:02:34","modified_gmt":"2008-05-16T09:02:34","slug":"my-ebay-feedback-just-increased-by-1000-points","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.johnthornhill.com\/blog\/my-ebay-feedback-just-increased-by-1000-points\/","title":{"rendered":"My eBay Feedback Just Increased By 1000 Points"},"content":{"rendered":"<style><\/style>\n<p>EBay&#8217;s\u00a0new feedback changes have\u00a0came into effect and if you try and leave  feedback for a customer you will now\u00a0be greeted with this message:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/planetsmsblog.com\/my-ebay-feedback-just-increased-by-1000-points\/feedback_changesgif\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-81\" title=\"feedback_changes.GIF\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/planetsmsblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/feedback_changes.GIF\" alt=\"feedback_changes.GIF\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a result of the changes my feedback score increased by over 1000 points overnight  because eBay will now award you feedback points for repeat custom and  everything\u00a0has been\u00a0backdated.<\/p>\n<p>So what do these new changes mean?<\/p>\n<p>Well as you can&#8217;t retaliate to any\u00a0negative feedback you receive from your customers any more  it means <strong>customer service will be king<\/strong>. If you run a sloppy business you will  suffer. And I actually don&#8217;t think this is a bad thing.<\/p>\n<p>I have always taken pride in my customer service and if eBay will reward me  for that I think it&#8217;s great.<\/p>\n<p>While we will all receive more negs because of these changes remember  everyone has a level playing field.<\/p>\n<p>So what can you do to protect your feedback? Well\u00a0I think it&#8217;s quite  simple:<\/p>\n<p><font size=\"4\"><font face=\"Verdana\">Always deliver to your customers in a timely manner and <em>always always always<\/em><\/font><\/font><font size=\"4\"><font face=\"Verdana\"> be polite to your  customers.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p>Also make sure you start communicating with your customers as soon as you make a sale and deal with any questions in a timely  manner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It really is a simple as that. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will once again see message boards full of people moaning about these  new changes. My advice is not to get dragged into this and concentrate on your  own business.
